3 things I learned from colour pencils:

Patience - some things just take a while...

Each drawing I create with colour pencils requires me to gradually build up layers of colour. For a long while the drawings really don't look anything like what I want them to, but with time and work they will eventually get there.

Small details matter...

Little things like which way the fur is going, reflections in eyes and subtle changes in tone are easy to overlook. But the little things matter they can make a big difference to the overall picture.

One step at a time...

When I start a new drawing sometimes it can be a little daunting especially looking at all the details that I need to capture with fur. But I try not to let my mind get too far ahead of itself and just focus on one section at a time.
