Ashlee Hambleton Artist & Tutor
Red Elephant Creative Tas
Art has always brought me so much joy and comfort, I find the creative process relaxing and an essential part of maintaining my well-being. I enjoy art mediums that have a slow process, that allow me to create fine detail and help me to be present in the moment.
My main interests being animals, birds and flowers, as I find I am happiest when surrounded by nature.
I have a keen interest in utilising visual arts to improve others well-being and I enjoy sharing my passion for art through a range of classes. I am a self taught artist and my background is in graphic design, I also have a Diploma of Creative Arts and Health. I have been lucky enough to attend workshops with the wonderful pastel artists June Wilson and Lyn Diefenbach and watercolour artist Sandy Michell.
The pet portrait part of my business is inspired by my love of animals, I grew up on a hobby farm and actually as a child wanted to be a vet, however my animal allergies led me down a different path. I have a mini Labradoodle named Ava, and a rainbow bridge Cavoodle named Scarlett. Two precious dogs who have taught me a lot about love and grief, so I understand how unique and strong the bond between people and their furry family members is. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to help capture precious memories for others through pet portraits.
I look forward to speaking with you soon,
Ash
